Talking with Da Nang newspaper, Brovarets Andrey Petrovich, Russian Consul General to Da Nang city, appreciated Vietnam’s successful organization of the event, expressing his thanks to the country for supporting the Russian delegation joining the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.

He confirmed that Da Nang city had showed its readiness in effective cooperation during the integration of regional leading economies.

“The establishment of the APEC Park where APEC member economies’ statutes are on show is a good idea,” he said. “We are happy as Yurii Gagarin, the first human in space, contributes to beautifying the Park, which helps link people together and complete cultural exchanges.”

Regarding the Russian Consulate General’s preparations for APEC, he stated that the consulate worked closely with agencies in Da Nang city, including security, immigration agencies and the Da Nang International Airport, to ensure the operations of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“Before leaving Da Nang, President V. Putin held my hands and thanked me for the considerate preparations for the Russian delegation in successfully joining the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week,” he said, conveying the Russian President’s saying that Vietnam had done its utmost to facilitate the work and create a friendly atmosphere.

Talking about increasing the cooperation between Russian regions and Da Nang city and Vietnam’s central localities, Russian Consul General Brovarets Andrey Petrovich said the cooperation should be further promoted based on the comprehensive strategic partnership and traditional friendship between the two countries.

He added that the Russian Consulate General had actively prepared for the establishment of relationships between Russian localities and Da Nang city, noting some outstanding activities between the two sides, including the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Primorye Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Da Nang branch in 2015; the signing of the agreement on developing a joint training curriculum and exchange of lecturers and students between the Far Eastern Federal University and the Da Nang University in 2015; and the signing of a cooperative deal between the Kurgan State University with universities and schools in Da Nang city and Quang Nam province in 2016.

“Vietnam has become the first country to sign a free trade agreement with the Eurasia Economic Union, which strengthens the driving force for the exchange of goods between Vietnam and Russia,” he added./.
