Speaking at the event, Chu Ngoc Anh, Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology, said that the cooperation between Vietnam and Australia is increasingly developing and innovation is a new pillar in the two countries’ strategic partnership, contributing to strengthening bilateral relations.

According to Julie Bishop, Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Government of Australia has adopted a development support program for Vietnam, entitled “Aus41nnovation”, using a capital of USD10 million. The money will be spent on activities to promote innovation potential, increase Vietnam’s innovation system, and carry out pilot projects in areas that Australia is experienced in.

“Our first activity is to send Australian experts to Vietnam to design a roadmap for a future of digitalization,” she said.

Australia hopes to provide experts for Vietnam for gaining progress in poverty reduction and maintain impressive economic transformation to a middle income country, which will allow Vietnam’s important sectors, including agriculture and production, to be modernized while ensuring that Vietnam can forecast occupational opportunities for the future work force./.
