Accordingly, Bosch will send experts, together with SiHub to evaluate startup projects and organize startup contests in industrial technology each year. Bosch will work with SiHub and the startup community, as well as new businesses, to carry out smart projects on the foundation of the Internet of Things (IoT), which are suitable for Vietnamese conditions and meet Ho Chi Minh City’s development demand. In addition, startup groups at SiHub will have opportunities to visit Bosch’s research and development (R&D) centres to study their working environment and technology capacity.

According to German Consul General to Ho Chi Minh city Andreas Siegel, the cooperation is a combination between Germany’s advanced technology capacity and the Vietnamese innovation startup community’s ebullient spirit.

Huynh Kim Tuoc, SiHub Director, said that as the city is looking towards a smart city with increased competitiveness of businesses and new products, the startup community is a part of realising this target. “The cooperation with Bosch will help the startup community in the city have access to Bosch technologies, and promote innovation startup capacity to produce highly valued products,” he said.

In 2016, Bosch Vietnam’s domestic sales revenue reached USD98.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 40%.

According to General Director of Bosch Vietnam Vo Quang Hue, in the near future, the company will spend an additional USD47 million on the Bosch Gasoline Systems plant in Dong Nai province, and enhance capacity of the research and development staff./.
