The noblest award by VUFO aims to honour the Brazilian Ambassador’s precious contributions to reinforce and increase mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil.

According to Mr Son, during his working term in Vietnam, Ambassador Marco Antonio Diniz Brandao has continuously made efforts to promote the relationship between Vietnam and Brazil in diverse areas, from politics - diplomacy to trade, economics, education and people-to-people exchange.

“Ambassador Marco Antonio Diniz Brandao has actively worked with agencies to promote the signing of cooperative agreements,” he said, adding that the two countries had signed deals on civil aviation, agriculture and education cooperation, as well as a memorandum of understanding between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Brazilian agency on trade and investment promotion.

He stressed that during the Ambassador’s working term, the two way trade turnover sharply increased to nearly USD4 billion, with an increase in the presence of Brazilian goods and services in Vietnam and in the number of Vietnamese businesses introducing the Vietnamese market in Brazil.
