The Vietnam - Canada relationship is increasing in all areas, Tran Vinh Tuyen, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee, has said.

He made the statement on March 21st during his reception for Canadian General Consul to Ho Chi Minh city Kyle Nunas, together with a delegation of Canadian businesses who came to study cooperation and investment opportunities in the Vietnamese city.
According to Mr. Tuyen, as of late 2018, Canada ranked 21st among 101 countries and territories investing in Ho Chi Minh city, with 80 projects capitalized at USD118 million.
He expressed his hope that Ho Chi Minh city and Canada would continue to boost cooperation in climate change adaptation, education and the building of urban areas.
Saying that he was pleased with Ho Chi Minh city’s open policies that help attract investment, Mr. Kyle Nunas added that Canadian businesses came to the Vietnamese city to seek cooperation and investment opportunities.
He also confirmed that Canadian businesses gave close attention to Ho Chi Minh city, a destination for investment, hoping for increasing trade cooperation with the city, especially in the building of smart urban area./.
