China expresses thanks to Vietnam for nCoV prevention support

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its thanks to Vietnam for the country’s goods worth USD500,000 in support of China’s fight against nCoV virus.

“The goods were transported to Wuhan (China) on February 10th,” said Geng Shuang, spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference in Beijing, adding that China is grateful for all support and assistance.

The breathing equipment, clean-room suits, gloves and face masks were presented during a ceremony on February 9th at the Noi Bai International Airport in the presence of Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung and Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung said that they are Vietnam’s best medical equipment at present, being provided for China in the context of Vietnam also needing them for fighting the disease. “We hope the equipment will contribute to helping Chinese people overcome the current difficult situation,” he said.

The acute respiratory disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province, China, in December 2019, has claimed 910 lives and infecting over 40,000 cases so far, mainly in China. It has spread to 26 countries and territories all over the world.

As of February 11th morning, Vietnam reported 15 positive cases, including 6 cured and discharged from hospital./.
