Cuban delegation visits Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital

First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba Salvado Valdes Mesa led a delegation to visit the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital in Quang Binh province’s Dong Hoi city on September 14th.

It was part of activities marking 45 years since leader Fidel Castro visited the liberated area in the South of Vietnam in September 1973.
During the visit, the hospital’s leaders said that after over 40 years of use of the precious present from the Cuban Party, Government and people, efficiency in medical check-ups and treatment for local and surrounding residents has been reported. So far, it has been recognized as a category-1 hospital under the management of the Ministry of Health, with nearly 500 sick-beds.
At present, the Cuban Health Ministry is assisting the hospital in training doctors and sending talented experts to assist medical treatment as well.
Talking with the hospital staff, Mr. Salvado Valdés Mesa highlighted the great significance of the visit to Quang Tri province by Cuban leader Fidel Castro in 1973, where he made the famous saying “For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its blood”. On the way to Quang Tri, the Cuban leader dropped in Quang Binh, and decided to present Quang Binh province’s people a general modern hospital.
He also expressed his hope that the cooperation between the two countries would be increased all areas, including in healthcare./.
