According to Mr. Dung, Da Nang and French localities and businesses have also carried out specific cooperative activities in economics, culture, education and exchange of high quality human resources. He also appreciated the operations of the Institute of France in Da Nang, especially in co-organising events marking the 45th anniversary of the Vietnam - France diplomatic relationship this year.

Expressing his hope that the French Ambassador will continue to promote cooperation between Da Nang and French localities, especially in high quality human resources, culture, climate change, and French investment through FDI projects in hi-tech and industrial zone, Mr. Dung confirmed that the city had agreed to attend the 11th Decentralised Cooperation Conference held in France’s Toulouse in April 2019.

Noting that the year 2018 is a special time in the Vietnam - France bilateral strategic cooperation, marking the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship and the 5th year since the signing of the strategic partnership, Ambassador Berthand Lortholary said he hoped to seek new progress in the two countries’ relationship, especially in waste treatment, urban traffic systems, education and training, and information technology.

He also suggested that Da Nang should open a direct flight to French localities, and work more closely with the French Agency for Development in carrying out projects, contributing to deepening the relationship between Vietnam and France and between Da Nang and French localities./.
