French navy ships visit Ho Chi Minh city

The French Navy’s amphibious assault ship Mistral and frigate Le Courber are paying a friendly visit to Vietnam from April 15th-21st.

The visit is part of the cooperation plan between Vietnamese and French defence forces in 2017, making contribution to boosting bilateral defence cooperation in particular and reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two countries in general.

The French naval officers are expected to meet Ho Chi Minh city leaders, the city High Command and the High Command of Naval Zone 2, while the two countries’ navy forces will conduct joint exercises.

The Vietnam Peacekeeping Centre, in collaboration with Hospital 175, visited the field hospital belonging to the French navy ships to serve the deployment of military medical forces serving the peacekeeping activities of the United Nations in the future./.
