In the letter, Mr. Michael Kretschmer noted that all were going through a difficult period of social and economic development that no one has ever fully forecast when it would end and what the consequences would be. However, he confirmed that Sachsen and Vietnam had become closer together during the crisis.

He also expressed his belief that the two area’s experience gained during the crisis would strengthen mutual understanding and would create a new impetus for closer and closer bilateral cooperation, adding that the efforts of the Vietnam – Germany Friendship Association were a typical example of international cooperation based on partnership in times of crisis.

He sent his wish that the Vietnamese people would have a lot of energy and quickly overcome the consequences caused by COVID-19, confirming that Sachsen state would also try its best to support Vietnam in emergency situations.

Earlier, on May 6th, at the German Embassy in Hanoi, the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association presented Germany 80,000 high-quality masks.

These masks were collected through a campaign launched by the association./.
