Hanoi creates favourable conditions for Korean businesses

Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has confirmed that Hanoi will continue to boost administrative reform, creating more favourable conditions for foreign businesses and tackling their possible obstacles, including Korean businesses and Lotte Group.

He made the statement on December 3rd during his reception for a delegation from the Republic of Korea’s Lotte Group.

According to Mr. Chung, over the past time, Lotte Group in Vietnam has worked closely with Hanoi agencies to put the Lotte Mall project into operation. He also expressed his thanks to the group for efforts in preparing for Hanoi’s investment promotion to be held in April 2019, and the signing of the agreement on bringing Hanoi agricultural products to Lotte marts in the RoK.

Confirming that Hanoi is a safe and great potential business and investment environment, Mr. Chung said he hoped Lotte Group will expand its investment in the city.

During the reception, President of the Lotte Group Shin Dong Bin said that Lotte has actively developed human resources and supported start-up projects in Vietnam. Since 2008, the group has awarded scholarships for some 1,800 Vietnamese students who achieved excellent academic results.

Noting that 18 companies of the Lotte Group with a capital of some VND40 trillion are operating in Vietnam, creating jobs for 20,000 laborers, he added that in over 20 years of operation in Vietnam, the group has used all of its profits for expanding investment, striving to become a business loved by Vietnamese residents./.
