Hanoi increases healthcare cooperation with Paris

The Hanoi People’s Committee on November 30th signed a memorandum of understanding on healthcare development with France’s Paris.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, stressed that as Hanoi is a healthcare centre for the whole country, medical check-ups and treatment are considered urgent and important deeds.

According to Chairman Chung, the city is making efforts to increase medical facilities, infrastructure and the quality of healthcare staff.

“The cooperation with Paris, a city having advanced healthcare, will help Hanoi develop diverse high quality areas of healthcare,” he said.

Nguyen Khac Hien, Director of the Hanoi Health Department, said the cooperation will be increased in five areas, including the development of infrastructure, the training of healthcare staff and of doctors and nurses of the Hanoi Paediatrics Hospital, the Hanoi Heart Hospital, the Emergency Centre, and the Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital.

Meanwhile, Ms Florence Veber, International Relations Director of the Assistance Public Hospital of Paris, said that Paris had completed the cooperation roadmap and plans so that authorized agencies could realise them, stressing the important role of Hanoi authority and Chairman Chung in directing agencies and localities to realise the cooperation./.
