So said Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung during a reception for a delegation led by Deputy Minister-President and Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour, and Transport of the German Federal State of Sachsen on November 19th.

He said the capital city values its developing cooperation with several German localities, and Germany’s assistance for Hanoi through recent diverse cultural exchanges.

Mr. Martin Dulig expressed his hope that the visit will open up many specific cooperation opportunities with Hanoi.

During the visit, the German delegation visited the Duong river surface water plant where Mr. Martin Dulig witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Vietnam’s Aquaone and Germany’s Aone Deusheuche on cooperation in investing in the solar energy system on the plant’s roofs which can produce a potential capacity of up to 10.8 MWp.

The MoU is expected to contribute to promoting cooperation and transfer of technnology and experience in developing effective investment projects in Vietnam.

The Duong river surface water plant, carried out by a German joint venture between the Aone Deutschland AG and Strabang companies, was among effective projects. The first phase of the plant began operations this October, producing 150,000 cubic metres per day; and the second phase is being constructed to increase the capacity to 300,000 cubic metres per day by October 2019.

On November 12th, Mr. Martin Dulig attended the inauguration ceremony of the Vietnam House in Germany. Meanwhile, the German Embassy in Vietnam on November 2nd-3rd held the Germany Festival in Hanoi./.
