Ho Chi Minh city and Cambodia promote relations

Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem, on November 6th, hosted a reception for Mr. Ly Vann Hong, Special Envoy of the Royal Government of Cambodia and Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Information, who led a Cambodian delegation to the exchange of young journalists, youths and students in Vietnamese and Cambodian border provinces.

The exchange program of young journalists, youths and students in Vietnamese and Cambodian border provinces was organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Youth Federation, in collaboration with the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, as one of the activities to mark the 52nd anniversary of Vietnam - Cambodia diplomatic ties.

During the exchange, various activities were held, including tree planting, inauguration of a children’s playground and trips to several tourist sites in Vietnam’s southwestern border province of Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh city

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Le Thanh Liem congratulated the Cambodian people on great achievements gained in the cause of national building and developing and raising the country’s position over the past years, and expressed his pleasure before the development of good relations between the two countries through visits of high-ranking leaders of the two sides over the past time.

He highlighted the significance of the exchange program between young journalists, youths and students in Vietnamese and Cambodian border provinces, which aims to promote Vietnamese and Cambodian youths’ pioneer role, as well as its contributions to preserving, consolidating and enhancing the relationship between the two countries.

Mr. Liem emphasized that Ho Chi Minh city always respects and makes all-out efforts to preserve and consolidate fruitful relations with Cambodia and its localities in particular.

For his part, Mr. Ly Vann Hong thanked the Vietnamese government for its cooperation with and effective support to Cambodia in fields of information and communications, especially in building radio and television broadcasting stations in 19 Cambodian cities and provinces.

He desired to continue to receive more collaboration and assistance from Vietnam in this field in the coming time. 

In terms of the exchange program, Mr. Ly Vann Hong said various activities held during the program have demonstrated the determination of both sides in boosting understanding, solidarity and friendship between their youths.

The Cambodian official expressed his hope that the two sides will continue to organize such programs in coming years to enhance the good relations between the two countries./.
