Ho Chi Minh city and Japanese prefecture increase cooperation

Receiving Governor of Japan’s Yamanashi prefecture Goto Hitoshi on a visit to Ho Chi Minh city on October 11th, Le Thanh Liem, Standing Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee, expressed his hope that the two localities would increase cooperative activities to benefit both and reinforce Vietnam - Japan relations.

Sharing information about Ho Chi Minh city’s socio-economic development, Mr. Liem suggested that the two localities should develop effective cooperative programs, especially in potential areas such as tourism and agriculture.

Being impressed by the Vietnamese city’s dynamic and strong development, Governor Goto Hitoshi said that bilateral relationships among Vietnamese and Japanese localities, including Ho Chi Minh city and Yamanashi prefecture, should be further reinforced, making contribution to the development of the two countries’ relationship.

He stressed that as Yamanashi prefecture has famous tourism sites and agricultural products, it hopes to link cooperation with Ho Chi Minh city’s partners, for mutual development.

Situated in the central region of Japan, Yamanashi prefecture, with Mount Fuji which is the symbol of Japan, is considered Japan’s “kingdom of fruits”./.
