He made the statement while receiving Mr. Peter Feldmann, Governor of Frankfurt city, on April 1st as he was on a visit to the Vietnamese city.

Saying that he believed the visit would help boost the economic and cultural relationship between Vietnam and Germany in general and between the two cities in particular, Mr. Nhan stressed that besides similarities in economic development with Ho Chi Minh city, Frankfurt is strong at finance, education and high technologies, areas that the Vietnamese city wants to cooperate in. Additionally, the two cities are international gateways and important economic centers of the two countries.

To boost the building of Ho Chi Minh city into a smart urban area, according to Mr. Nhan, apart from infrastructure and science technology, the city gives priority to developing education and training in international cooperation, especially in vocational training and tertiary education. Therefore, he urged the Frankfurt city governor to link the two sides’ universities and educational foundations, for increasing the quality of human resources to international standard.

“Ho Chi Minh city always creates favorable conditions for foreign businesses, including those coming from Frankfurt city, contributing to boosting bilateral cooperation,” he confirmed.

Informing that Frankfurt city plays an important part in Germany’s economy, Mr. Peter Feldman said that it regularly organized international fairs to both encourage economic development and welcome more businesses from every part of the world.

He agreed with Mr. Nhan that after the Vietnam - EU free trade agreement, more and more Vietnamese enterprises would come to do business in Frankfurt city.

He hoped after his visit, the two sides would carry out more cooperative activities, such as in information technology, artificial intelligence, chemicals and automobile design.

“Frankfurt city is willing to share experience with Ho Chi Minh city in environmental protection and alternative energy,” he said./.
