As the Vietnamese lunar New Year festival approaches, on February 8th, the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee held a meeting with foreign representative offices in the city for reinforcing cooperative friendships.

Introducing the city’s outstanding achievements in 2017, Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the city People’s Committee, stressed that the year marked success in Vietnam’s and the city’s external affairs.
“The city made great efforts in deepening the relationship with countries, actively carrying out international integration, promoting the image of the city with international friends, and attracting resources for socio-economic development".
Noting representatives from consular agencies, international organizations, non-Governmental organizations, businesses and international friends for making important contributions to the city’s development, Mr. Phong expressed his hope that they would continue to support the city’s authority and residents, contributing to the cooperation and development among countries.
Ms Leow Siu Lin, Singaporean Consul General to Ho Chi Minh city, congratulated the city on its achievements in 2017, saying that it reflected the role of the country’s economic motive force, which creates a stable environment.
Appreciating the good relationship between the city and diplomatic agencies, she confirmed that her consulate general would work closely with and support the city’s development.
The meeting was held to honour the contribution of consulate agencies, international organizations and foreign businesses to the city’s development, which contributes to reinforcing and developing the friendly relationships between the city and international partners and friends./.
