Ho Chi Minh city develops relationship with Cuba

A delegation from Ho Chi Minh city led by Vo Thi Dung, Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee, paid an official visit to Cuba from April 4th-7th to boost cooperative relationships with its localities.

At a meeting with Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera, Deputy Head of Cuban Communist Party Central Committee's Department for External Relations, the two sides reviewed the loyal traditional relationship between the two countries, confirming that it was a sustainable foundation for developing the comprehensive cooperation.

The two sides also informed each other of their socio-economic achievements as well as existing difficulties and challenges, and surrounding international situations.

Of which, Ho Chi Minh city’s advantages as Vietnam’s largest economic center and locality looking to modern and sustainable development using high technology, were introduced to highlight potential cooperation with Cuban localities.

During the working trip, the Ho Chi Minh city’s delegation worked with leaders of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment, and visited Artemisa province and the Mariel Special Development Zone - the center expecting to become an economic spearhead helping accelerate Cuba’s economic growth./.
