Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee Secretary visits Laos

During the talks, the two sides informed each other of the socio-economic development situation of the two Party Committees and the two cities, showing pleasure with the comprehensive development of the cooperation between the two cities which was seen in high-ranking visits to each other for exchanging experience and promoting the friendly and cooperative relationship, as well as the effective implementation of diverse socio-economic projects.

Noting that this was his first visit to a foreign country as Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee, Dinh La Thang underlined that the city wanted to show its efforts and will in further reinforcing and strengthening the friendly and cooperative relationship between the city and Vientiane in particular and Lao localities in general. 

He affirmed that many specific cooperative projects between the two localities had been carried out efficiently. “Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh city, wants to become one of the largest investors in Vientiane,” he said.

For his part, Mr. Sinlavong Khoutphathoune thanked the Vietnamese Party and Government, especially the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee and authority, for their support for Vientiane over the past years, expressing his hope that Vientiane would continue to share experience and increase cooperation with Ho Chi Minh city in the future.

During the talks, the two sides agreed to continue to implement the signed documents of cooperation for the 2015-2020 period. Ho Chi Minh city also agreed with Vientiane’s proposals on supporting the development of cattle breeding ground, the processing of beef, and the ability for management of finance and budget.
