So said Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee during his reception for Andreas Siegel, German Consul General to Ho Chi Minh city, on June 20th, as he said a farewell to the Vietnamese city’s leader at the end of his working term.

During the reception, Mr. Phong recognized and appreciated the Germany Consul General’s contributions to maintaining and developing the relationship between the two countries.
Noting that the ties between Germany and Ho Chi Minh city have developed strongly, he confirmed that the city always makes favourable conditions for German businesses to invest in the city, adding that he hoped Mr. Andreas Siegel, at any working position, will support the cooperation between Germany and Vietnam as well as between German localities and Ho Chi Minh city.
Saying that he ended his working term in Vietnam when many German projects are ongoing in Ho Chi Minh city, including the Germany House project where gathers German agencies and businesses; the German trade office where over 280 Germany companies join, Mr. Andreas Siegel confirmed that Germany is always be a trusted partner of Vietnam.
He added he believed that his successor would help promote cooperation between the two sides, especially in economics, trade, culture and society./.
