During the meeting, the An Giang provincial Fatherland Front and the Kandal and Takeo provincial Solidarity Fronts for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland discussed diverse solutions of cooperation in 2017, including increasing the dissemination of new legal documents to help residents of the Vietnamese and Cambodian localities have accurate understanding and obeying of border laws; increasing exchanges between the An Giang provincial Fatherland Front and the Kandal and Takeo provincial Solidarity Fronts for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland, as well as between people from the 3 provinces, thus contributing to protecting and maintaining security in border areas; promoting border economic development; making favourable conditions for border residents to exchange goods,  have access to healthcare and visit their relatives.

Over the past two years, the relationship between Vietnam’s An Giang province and Cambodia’s Takeo and Kandal provinces have further deepened, bringing practical results, contributing to maintaining border security and social safety, preventing criminals in accordance with the principle of respect for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country.

The cooperation between authorized forces along border line has continued to be carried out smoothly by jointly holding bilateral patrols on Vietnamese and Cambodian bordering provinces, protecting border markers, and promptly preventing any destructive activities by bad elements.

Together with it, authorized agencies of An Giang, Kandal and Takeo provinces have regularly instructed people on obeying border laws; made favourable conditions for the people to trade, travel and visit relatives; shared experience in trade and agricultural production; supported the poor; and organized cultural and sports activities, contributing to reinforcing the solidarity, friendship and sustainable cooperation for mutual development between Vietnam and Cambodia.

During the meeting, the two sides signed a new MoU for 2017./.
