NA Chairwoman pays official visit to India

Politburo member and Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and a delegation from the Vietnamese NA left Hanoi on December 8th for an official visit to the Republic of India at the invitation of the Chairman of the Indian Senate Mohammad Hamid Ansarin and Speaker of the Lower House of the Indian Parliament Sumitra Mahajan.

The visit holds great significance as it is expected to further deepen the Vietnam – India relationship, reinforce the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, and increase the multi-lateral cooperation between Vietnam and India, as they are to celebrate the 45th year of diplomatic relationship and 10th year of strategic partnership.

It also aims to promote the relationship between the Vietnamese NA and Indian legislative agencies, laying a firm foundation for long-term and stable relationship with India, as Vietnam is undergoing increasingly deep integration into the region and the world.

After the visit, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and her delegation will attend the 11th Meeting of Women Speakers of Parliament in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from December 11th – 13th, which aims to reflect Vietnam’s active policies in international integration, promoting the role and prestige of Vietnam and of the nation’s NA in regional and world parliamentary forums, and confirming Vietnam’s gender equality policy./.
