PCC Commission Head visits Czech Republic

A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission for Mass Mobilization, paid a working visit to the Czech Republic from September 15th-19th.

During a meeting with the Czech Communist Party (KSCM) - Moravia, Ms Mai and the KSCM First President Petr Simunek discussed measures to further heighten the traditional friendship and increase the efficiency of cooperation between the two Parties, including increasing cooperation among agencies of the two Parties and joining coordination at international multilateral forums.

Vietnam appreciated the KSCM, with its important voice in the parliament and political circles, for supporting the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and encouraging the Czech Government to increase multilateral cooperation with Vietnam, according to Ms Mai.

Mr. Petr Simunek confirmed that the KSCM - Moravia attached importance to reinforcing the relationship with the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people.

Meeting with representatives from the Czech Social Democratic Party (CSSD) led by Michal Kucián, CSSD Secretary, the two sides praised the increasingly developed relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic with the contribution of the two ruling Parties.

The two sides agreed to promote the relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in terms of economics, education and training, labour and administrative management.

Vietnam appreciated the Czech Republic bringing Vietnam to the list of 12 key markets with priority set in the foreign trade sector.

The Head of the PCC Commission on Mass Mobilization applauded the Czech Republic for its support in promoting the European Union (EU) to promptly sign the EU - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, and suggested the Czech Government create favourable conditions in granting visas for Vietnamese people.

During the trip, she also worked with the Czech - Vietnam Association, praising the association for fostering the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and assisting the Vietnamese community in Czech.

Marcel Winter, President of the Czech - Vietnam Association, confirmed that the association would stand by Vietnam in its renewal process, as well as in national construction and safeguarding.

Working with Czech partners, Ms Mai informed them of the recent situation in the East Sea and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) judgement in the Hague, the Netherlands on the East Sea, confirming Vietnam’s consistent viewpoint in protecting its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its guideline to address disputes by peaceful measures in accordance with international laws and regional agreements, including the 1982 United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)./.
