Polish Ambassador receives peace insignia

Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Bui Khac Son presented the “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” insignia to Polish Ambassador to Vietnam Barbara Szymanowska on May 8th as she ended her working term in Vietnam.

Mr. Son confirmed that the insignia, VUFO’s most noble, aimed to honour Ambassador Barbara Szymanowska’s active contributions to promote the cooperative and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Poland.

“In her working term, Ambassador Barbara Szymanowska has made great contribution to the Vietnam - Poland relationship in diverse areas, including politics, diplomacy, trade, economics, development, education and people-to-people relations,” said Mr. Son, expressing his hope that in her future positions, the Polish Ambassador would continue to help promote the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

According to Mr. Son, Ambassador Szymanowska has worked with Vietnamese relevant agencies to organize Poland Business Forums with the participation of many leading Polish enterprises; welcome Polish art troupes and organize Polish film festivals in Vietnam, as well as diverse events relating to tertiary education, culture and tourism, helping Vietnamese people have better understanding and be closer to the Polish country and people. “She has also assisted the Vietnam - Poland Friendship Association in carrying out its diplomatic activities,” Mr. Son added.

Expressing her honour at receiving the insignia, Ambassador Szymanowska said that over the past four years, she, together with her embassy and members of the Vietnam - Poland Friendship Association and the two peoples, had made great efforts in conducting diverse exchanges and cooperative projects, in order to bridge the geographic gap, thus further reinforcing the bilateral relationship.

She confirmed that the Vietnam - Poland cooperative and friendly relationship would develop well in all areas, and pledged to continue to promote the relationship in her future positions./.
