She made the statement on June 11th during her reception for US Consul General to Ho Chi Minh city Mary Etta Tarnowka, who delivered a farewell on the end of her working term in the city.

Ms Chau stressed that the US Consulate General had supported Ho Chi Minh city in training human resources in information technology, organizing highly significant events for women and girls, coordinating free surgery programs for poor patients, and holding very effective people-to-people exchanges, thus making contributions to reinforcing the friendly relationship between the US and Vietnam in general, and between the US and Ho Chi Minh city in particular.

She expressed her hope that Ms Mary Etta Tarnowka would continue promoting the cooperative relationship between the two sides in her new working position.

Expressing her thanks to Ho Chi Minh city for supporting cooperative activities with the US, Ms Mary Etta Tarnowka said she believed that successfully organized events between the two sides would help boost the building of the city into an urban area worth living in, thus further reinforcing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries./.
