During the reception, Chairman Phong said that in 2017, Vietnam and the RoK celebrated 25 years of diplomatic relationship. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh city and Busan have set up a relationship for over 20 years.  Therefore, he expressed his hope that Vietnamese honourable general consul to Busan Park Soo Kwan would continue to support the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the RoK in general, and between the RoK and Ho Chi Minh city in particular.

According to Chairman Phong, the RoK ranks 4th of 92 countries and territories investing in the city, with 1,394 projects.

Stressing that the city always attaches importance to foreign investment, he confirmed that the city would continue to improve its investment environment to make favourable conditions for foreign investors, including Korean investors.

At present, Ho Chi Minh city calls on investment in urban infrastructure, real estate, hi-tech industries, mechanics, power and electronics, plastic and rubber, food processing, supportive industries, waste treatment, and smart city development.

“Our city hopes to welcome investment from large Korean groups and businesses,” he said.

Appreciating the development of the city, Vietnamese honourable general consul to Busan Park Soo Kwan said he believed that the city’s effort to become an economic, financial, trade, scientific and educational centre of Southeast Asia would be successful.

He said that many Korean businesses were going to invest in Vietnam, especially in real estate, information and technology, and waste treatment. “In particular, there will be a wave of investment from Korean businesses into Ho Chi Minh city,” he confirmed.

He also expressed his hope that the RoK and Vietnam would increase cooperation for the prosperity and benefit of each country./.
