This was part of the presentation that UNESCO Chief Representative in Hanoi Michael Croft delivered during a meeting held on January 17th to review the organization’s operation in 2018.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman of the Vietnam's National UNESCO Committee and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said that in early 2018, the Office of UNESCO Hanoi developed a cooperative strategy with Vietnam, agreeing with Vietnam's National UNESCO Committee to promote other UNESCO strengths, including culture, heritages, education, and natural and social sciences.

According to Mr. Michael Croft, the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and UNESCO Office are implementing a project on developing criteria on education based on international standards, contributing to analyzing and assessing Vietnamese education’s strengths and weaknesses, and thus proposing more effective policies.

This year, the ministry will host the international forum on global citizens’ education and sustainable development, which is expected to gather 200 educational researchers and managers to discuss current issues of concern for Vietnam./.
