US commits to coordinate organising successful APEC Week

During the reception, Vice Chairman Tuan provided the US acting Consul General information about the preparations, saying that he hoped US diplomatic agencies would work closely with Da Nang city to effectively organize the event, and increase investment promotion in Da Nang city.

According to Mr Tuan, there are currently 43 US businesses with an investment capital of over USD500 million in Da Nang city. In 2016, Da Nang city exports to the US reached some USD250 million. Meanwhile, the US side is working closely with Da Nang city in cleaning up dioxin at the Da Nang International Airport. Recent visits by US navy vessels to Da Nang city left a good impression on the city, contributing to increasing understanding and cooperation between the two countries.

US acting Consul General to Ho Chi Minh city Timothy Liston said Da Nang city is suitable as host of APEC Summit Week, as it has good infrastructure and professional human resources. He confirmed that the US side would be willing to cooperate with Da Nang city to successfully organize the event./.
