The special 60-minute radio program in the English language provided listeners from Egypt, Arab, African and European countries a general picture of Vietnam's history of struggle for independence, its successful experiences in renewal and the current socio-economic development, as well as its typical traditional cultural features and good friendly relations with countries, including Egypt.

During the program, Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Tran Thanh Cong emphasized the historical significance of September 2, 1945, for the Vietnamese people and nation, considering it a flag for oppressed peoples around the world. Over the past 75 years, the Vietnamese people have gone from victory to victory. Vietnam has made great achievements after nearly 35 years of renewal and international integration.

Ambassador Tran Thanh Cong affirmed that the results had been brought about by the patriotism, the right and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the love for peace of the Vietnamese people. He also emphasized the Vietnamese Party’s and State’s care in boosting educational development, and fostering talents associated with preserving national cultural identity.

Reviewing historical milestones in the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Egypt, the ambassador said that the two countries shared many similarities and advantages, thus having many opportunities to boost cooperation and support mutual development for a prosperous future.

“In order to promote bilateral cooperation, first of all, it is necessary to promote cooperation between the people of the two countries so that we can understand each other's cultural characteristics, from cuisine to music and culture,” he said. “I hope that not only Hanoi and Cairo, but also other localities of the two countries have good cooperation and hope that the relationship between the two countries will reap a lot of success in the future.”
