Vietnam, Cuba review bilateral cooperation

(CPV) - The 36th meeting of Vietnam-Cuba Inter-Governmental Committee is being held in La Habana from November 26th-30th with the co-chairmanship of Pham Hong Ha, Minister of Construction and President of the Vietnam Sub-Committee.

The meeting will review the implementation of previous meeting’s results and the bilateral cooperation in 2018; and give proposals for joint activities in agriculture, industry, healthcare, finance and banking, information communications technology, irrigation, construction, education, culture, sports, radio and television, customs, planning and transport.

The two-way turnover reached USD224.3 million in 2017 and is expected to value USD500 million by 2020. Vietnam, one of the 10 leading countries globally, and 2nd in Asia, in terms of trade exchange with Cuba, has a licensed investment project in Cuba, while some others are undergoing final negotiations for prompt licenses, including the projects of the Viglacera Corporation on producing bricks./.
