She made the statement on February 10th when she was received by senior lieutenant general Nguyen Chi Vinh, 12th PCC member and Deputy Minister of National Defence.

She added that EU had sent an expert on UN peacekeeping to the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department to support cooperative programs between the two sides.

During the reception, senior lieutenant general Nguyen Chi Vinh and Ms Axelle Nicaise appreciated the cooperative relations between the two sides over the past years, especially in defence.

Expressing his thanks for the EU's effective support, senior lieutenant general Nguyen Chi Vinh informed that Vietnam would adopt FPA in the near future, and urged the two sides to prepare specific plans for carrying out the cooperative articles.

He suggested the EU consider giving continued training for Vietnamese officers to join the UN peacekeeping activities, including training in the French language./.
