Vietnam exports over 450,000 DuPont protective suits

This is the first of two initial shipments of over 450,000 DuPont protective suits. The shipment will soon be handed over to the US Strategic National Reserves to address the urgent need for medical protective equipment for frontline fighters of COVID-19.

Recently, Vietnam and the US have cooperated closely on healthcare in general and the COVID-19 pandemic in particular. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) have collaborated with Vietnamese authorities to inspect and deal with the COVID-19 outbreak which is spreading worldwide.

The two sides have frequently exchanged information and experience on COVID-19 prevention, including the progress of research and development of vaccines and treatment medicines. Over the past 20 years, the US has spent more than USD706 million on medical assistance for Vietnam and provided significant technical and financial support to Vietnam to prevent, detect and cope with new dangerous infectious diseases. Recently, USAID also announced an additional USD2.9 million in medical assistance to the Vietnamese Government.

As COVID-19 is spreading globally and especially in the US, there is a huge demand for medical protective products in the US. Vietnam's delivery of related products to the US shows its mutual support spirit to partner countries, including the US. This is also Vietnam's participation in and contribution to the global effort to push back COVID-19./.
