Vietnam extends condolences over former UN Secretary-General’s death

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on August 19th cabled a message of condolences to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Ghanaian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Shirley Ayorkor Botchway over the death of former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

Kofi Annan, who had served as Secretary-General of the United Nations for 10 years, passed away on August 18th at the age of 80.
He was considered a bright star in international relations, who had brought new vitality to the UN after two terms of leadership.
He was also recognised by analysts and politicians as one of the most outstanding Secretary General in the UN history./.
