Addressing the exchange, Tran Van Mien, Deputy Chairman of the Da Nang city People’s Committee, said that on the foundation of the special friendship between the two Parties and States, the cooperation between Da Nang city and Lao localities had developed in all areas, including politics, security and defence, economics and culture.
He also appreciated the Lao Consulate General in promoting exchanges and cooperative activities between the two countries.
According to Lao Consul General to Da Nang city Viengxay Phommachanh, Da Nang city has signed 30 cooperation deals or memorandum of understanding with Lao localities, focusing on production and business, planning, agriculture, healthcare, education, culture and social affairs.
“Four Da Nang city companies are investing in Laos,” he said, adding that since 2002, the University of Da Nang had received nearly 750 Lao students, including 194 receiving scholarships from the city People’s Committee.
Expressing his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese and Da Nang city’s Party organizations, authorities, agencies, unions and people for the support for Laos, he said he hoped the cooperation between the two sides would continuously develop in all areas.
During the Vietnam - Laos gastronomy exchange, delegates practiced Lao people’s traditional rituals; enjoyed the two countries’ typical food; and enjoyed an art performance./.
