Vietnam – Morocco relationship reinforced in all areas

During his recent working visit to Morocco, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission on Popularization and Education Vo Van Thuong, confirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to developing relationships with friendly countries, including Morocco.

He made the statement during his meetings with Moroccan Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani, Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Habib El Malki, leaders of four parties in the Moroccan coalition government, President of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council and the Governor of Casablanca.

Adding that Vietnam considers Morocco one of its priorities in northern Africa, Mr. Thuong asserted that Vietnam is willing to be a bridge for Morocco to expand its relationships with Southeast Asian nations, and hopes to cooperate with Morocco in all areas.

According to Moroccan Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani, the bilateral cooperation does not fulfil the good political relationship and potential of the two countries. “The Moroccan Government will do its utmost to enhance cooperation with Vietnam in various areas and to promote relations between the two governments,” he said.

For his part, Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Habib El Malki expressed his hope to receive Vietnam’s support for Morocco in strengthening relationships with Southeast Asian nations./.
