Vietnam - Philippines cooperative and friendly relationship continuously developed

Addressing the meeting, President of the city Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association Phan Thi Hong Xuan said that over the past years, the two countries had continuously cooperated in economics, culture, trade and education; promoted solidarity; and maintained the central role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in addressing large issues relating to the security and interests of each country and of the region.

According to Ms Xuan, over the past years, the association worked with the Philippines’ honourable consulate general in Ho Chi Minh city to organize cultural exchanges and educational workshops between Vietnamese and Philippine schools, contributing to enhancing friendship between the two countries. She also express her belief that Ho Chi Minh city and the Philippines would continue to further increase the comprehensive cooperative relationship in economics, education, the training of the English language, tourism, and culture.

Thanking the Ho Chi Minh city Union of Friendship Organizations and the city Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association for marking the 120^th anniversary of the Philippines’ Independence Day, the Philippine’s Ambassador to Vietnam Noel Servigon showed his pleasure with the achievements in the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He confirmed that a lot of potential for cooperation remains, thus urging the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh city to carry out programs aiming to boost the relationship between the two countries, especially in economics, trade, investment and education./.
