Vietnam respects comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia

Talking to the press on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, emphasized that in the context of the complicated COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam’s sending delegations to Army Games 2020 confirmed its respect for the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, including defence cooperation considered an important pillar, contributing to successfully realize the Vietnam – Russia and Russia – Vietnam Year 2019-2020 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1950 - 2020).

According to Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, this year is the 3^rd year the Vietnamese delegation attended the event, with a much larger and more powerful team compared to previous years.

He added that the Vietnamese athletes would have a chance to confirm their training, combat readiness, and exchange, share, and study more experience from countries’ armies./.
