Vietnam, RoK look to USD100 billion in bilateral turnover

During his visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK), on December 5th, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung had meetings with President of the New Look South Committee Kim Hyeon Cheol and President of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Committee Chang Byung-gyu.

In trade, to realize the target of bilateral trade turnover of USD100 billion by 2020, Vietnam suggested the RoK accelerate the quarantine process on Vietnamese agricultural products, helping Vietnamese goods join Korean businesses’ global value chains.

He also asked the Fourth Industrial Revolution Committee to work with relevant agencies to promote ongoing cooperative projects.

President Chang Byung-gyu confirmed that his committee will consider Vietnam’s proposals, and be willing to cooperate with Vietnamese agencies, especially the Ministry of Science and Technology, to carry out the projects.

He added that Korean agencies will also be willing to organize forums so that the young generations of the two countries can have dialogue on start-ups and the fourth industrial revolution./.
