The Vietnamese – German Centre of Excellence in Medical Research (VGCare) in Hanoi on March 30th sent 6,000 medical sample tubes to Germany, the German Embassy in Vietnam reported on March 31st.

The devices will be used in clinical trials of COVID-19 treatment from April 1st by the University of Tuebingen, the University of Hamburg and University of Stuttgart.

VG-Care's support is done in the context that Germany does not have enough tubes to collect samples.

VG-Care was established by the Central Military Hospital 108 and the University of Tuebingen’s Tropical Medicine Research Institute in early 2018. This facility is an independent research center for the benefit of the community, specializing in clinical study of infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses and parasites.

Germany and Vietnam have joined together in the fight against COVID-19 through the cooperation of research institutions, scientists and Governments.

As of March 31st, Germany has confirmed more than 67,000 cases of COVID-19, killing 650 people./.
