A delegation from Vietnam’s Phu Yen province led by Huynh Tan Viet, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, recently worked with Hungary’s Hajdú-Bihar on boosting cooperation in socio-economic development, including cooperation in hot mineral spring development.

Vietnam, Hungary agree to lift relations to comprehensive partnership

During the working meeting, the two sides highlighted their thermal mineral springs: Phu Yen’s Lac Sanh, Triem Duc, Tra O and Phu Sen, and Hajdú-Bihar’s Hajdúszoboszló thermal bath.

Realizing the similarities and potential for this area of cooperation, Huynh Tan Viet and Zoltán Pajna, Governor of Hajdú-Bihar province, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in developing the thermal mineral sector. Under the MoU, Hajdú-Bihar province will help Phu Yen outline a general plan on the development of mineral springs; transfer experience and factual models as well as best technologies; and make favourable conditions for tourist agencies and resorts of the two sides to set up business relationships.

The two sides confirmed that the MoU not only promoted the efficient and sustainable exploitation of thermal mineral resources, but also laid a foundation for expanding cooperation in other areas, including agriculture, education and training.

During the trip in Hungary, the Phu Yen province’s delegation joined a talk on using thermal mineral water and opportunities from Hungary and was received by Bajkai, a Hungarian parliamentarian, who confirmed that the cooperation between Phu Yen and Hajdú-Bihar province, as well as with other partners such as Eximbank, the world leading group on thermal mineral Aquaplus, and PBG FMC Company, would actively contribute to the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary.

Earlier, the delegation met with diverse Hungarian partners in making surveys, assessing water quality, exploiting, designing and constructing mineral spring business. In particular, they visited Hajdúszoboszló, the largest mineral bath center of Europe; the Hungarian thermal bath association which gathers leading experts and doctors in medical mineral baths; and the Hungarian national tourist agency to learn about their experience in medical tourism achievements./.
