Vietnamese border station presents gifts to Lao residents

On September 13, the A Dot border guard station in Vietnam’s central province of Thua Thien Hue worked with the A Luoi district Fatherland Front to present gifts to the armed forces and residents in Ka Lo village, Ka Lum district in Laos’ Se Kong province.

During the gift presenting ceremony, representatives from the A Luoi district Fatherland Front presented 122 gifts, which included essential goods such as rice, fish sauce and cooking oil, to residents in Ka Lo village. 

The gifts came from donations by agencies, businesses and sponsors worth nearly VND70 million. 

In addition, the A Dot border guard station earmarked capital to present 200 kilograms of rice, 50 packages of instant noodles, 40 packages of soft drinks and a package of medical face masks and some essential goods worth nearly VND15 million.

Major Sengvisay Phetsaikham, from the Se Kong provincial military High Command, expressed his thanks for the special affection of the A Luoi district border guard. 

“Over the past time, the Thua Thien Hue provincial border guard High Command, A Dot border guard and A Luoi district authority have always stood side by side with residents in the border areas by organizing diverse activities to allocate food and medical equipment, especially in the prevention of COVID-19,” he said. “The activities have helped assist the lives of residents in Ka Lo village as well as Lao armed forces.”
