A send off ceremony was held on August 9th in Hanoi for the delegation to the International Army Games 2020, slated for later this month in Russia, in order to encourage the delegation members’ bravery, will and confidence to win the highest results, continuing to affirm their qualifications, combat readiness and wisdom of VPA in the international arena.

This will be the third time the VPA takes part in the Games, an annual event organised by the Russian Ministry of Defence.

Addressing the send-off ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the VPA General Staff, said that the Army Games is a chance for countries’ militaries to enhance mutual understanding, demonstrate their combat readiness, and learn from one another’s experiences.

He expressed his belief that with solidarity, unanimity and high resolve, VPA teams will achieve the best results, thus affirming the Vietnamese army’s mettle, will and capacity to compete in international events.

“You need to maintain the image of ‘Our army is loyal to the Party, filial to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for socialism. Every task is completed, every difficulty can be overcome, every enemy will be defeated’ as a compliment from Uncle Ho,” he added./.
