Vietnamese volunteers provide free healthcare for poor Cambodians

The Overseas Vietnamese Committee of Ho Chi Minh city and the Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University on November 21st worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia and the Vietnamese Cambodian Association to hold a program providing free healthcare to 300 overseas Vietnamese and poor Cambodians in Ponhe Leu district, Kandal province.

During the program, the delegation also presented 500 sets of books in the Vietnamese language, 600 sets of schooling equipment and 6,000 notebooks worth VND100 million to the Vietnamese Cambodian Association in Kampong Chhnang and Pursat provinces.

Vice Chairwoman of the Overseas Vietnamese Committee of Ho Chi Minh and head of the voluntary delegation Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hanh said that through the activity, the delegation wanted to express the affection of the Vietnamese Party, State and people towards overseas Vietnamese and Cambodians, hoping that they would overcome difficulties to lead stable, prosperous and happy lives.

“The activity also aimed to reinforce the good traditional relationship between the two peoples and Governments,” she said.

This was the second humanitarian activity that the Overseas Vietnamese Committee of Ho Chi Minh city has carried out in Cambodia this year./.
