From June 17th-22nd, the Da Nang city Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is carrying out an international voluntary program in Laos, with the participation of 35 volunteers who are doctors and nurses.

Throughout the program, volunteers are providing free medical check-ups, treatment and medicine to over 1,500 residents in remote and disadvantaged districts in Laos’ Salavan province; and presenting 100 gifts worth VND500,000 each to poor families in the districts.

This is the 7th time young members from Da Nang city Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union have joined the voluntary program in Laos.

Salavan province’s young people welcome the delegation.

Despite heavy rain, young volunteers transport packages of medicine and presents to Nong Bu Hin village.

The delegation members prepare medicine to allocate to local residents.

Young doctors and nurses confer before medical check-ups.

A large number of local residents come to receive medical check-ups.

The doctors and nurses come from different hospitals in Da Nang city and specialize in different areas, including ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, obstetrics and paediatrics. In the picture is doctor Truong Cong Gia Thinh from the Da Nang Eye Hospital, who is conducting an eye exam for a patient.
