The province currently has over 600 historical and cultural relics and landscapes, including one world heritage site, four special national relics, 51 national relics, 72 provincial-level relics and a system of intangible cultural heritages, relics, antiquities and archaeological sites with scientific, historical and cultural values.
Over the past time, the sectors and localities in the province have mobilized resources to invest in remodelling and embellishing cultural and historical relics, and restoring traditional festivals in association with spiritual cultural tourism development, thereby promoting efficiency of values of cultural and historical heritages in the province.
According to the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, from 2012 to now, the total spending on remodelling relics in the province is about VND2,059 billion, of which 97% is from socialized capital source.
"The way of Dong Trieu town is to preserve and promote cultural values of heritages and relics in association with the community and socialization mobilization, in which people play the main role," said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Dong Trieu town.
According to cultural researcher Le Dong Son from the Quang Ninh Heritage Association, promotion of cultural heritage values must include promotion of values in traditional education and cultural activities, which Quang Ninh province has done well, and some localities of the province have promoted values of heritages together with economic development.
Effective promotion of values of cultural heritages not only contributes to preserving traditional cultural and historical values of the locality, meeting the needs of religious and cultural activities of the people, but also contributes to turning cultural heritages into tourist destinations, importantly contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality./.
