Czech Republic offers to open direct flights from Ho Chi Minh city to Prague

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong was pleased about the good relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic and thanked the country for supporting Vietnam during the resistance wars and construction of the country.

He said at the reception of Mr. Robert Pelikan, Minister of Justice of the Czech Republic on June 8th. 

In 2014, the Czech Republic was the first country to recognize the Vietnamese community as a minority community. Mr. Phong hoped that the Czech Republic would continue to support the more than 60,000 Vietnamese people living and working in the Czech Republic.

“Ho Chi Minh city is looking forward to strengthening the cooperation between the two countries. Through this visit, more and more Czech businesses would seek investment opportunities in the city based on their strengths and the needs of the city, such as infrastructure, power generation, electrical equipment, machinery, crystal and glass,” he said.

The Chairman also supported the opening of direct flights from Ho Chi Minh city to Prague, because this is an opportunity to develop tourism and strengthen exchanges between the two peoples.

Mr. Robert Pelikan expressed his sympathy for the good relationship between the two countries and he hoped that relationship would become better and better. He is looking forward to the support of the city leaders on open direct flights from Ho Chi Minh city to Prague, soon to be implemented to contribute to tourism development between the two sides./.
