Finland to hold scientific and technological week in Ho Chi Minh city

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong on June 27th received Mr. Ilkka - Pekka Simila, Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam, on the occasion of ending his term of office in Vietnam.

He congratulated Mr. Ilkka - Pekka Simila for his successful tenure in Vietnam and highly appreciated his contribution to enhancing the friendly relations between Vietnam and Finland, including Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong highly appreciated the experience and strength of Finland in creative management and development of creative ecosystems. Finland has sent its experts to support universities in Ho Chi Minh city to build programs and train lecturers teaching start-up. This is one of the programs that Ho Chi Minh city is very interested in and hopes that Finland will share experiences in this field.

Mr. Ilkka - Pekka Simila wants the city to create conditions for Finland to hold a week of science, technology and creative innovation in Ho Chi Minh city on October 24th -28th.

In 2018, the two countries will mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. He also expected that the city will create conditions for Finland to organize many events in the field of culture and education, strengthening the cooperation of the two countries./.
