French community highly appreciates Ho Chi Minh city’s dynamic business environment

The Ho Chi Minh city's National Assembly delegation led by Mr. Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, Head of the city Party Committee’s Commission for Popularization and Education, had a working session with the Council of Paris’ District 8, France on September 17th.

Ms. Jeanne D’hauteserre, Mayor of District 8 and Head of the Council of District 8, warmly welcomed the delegation and spent much time sharing about the operation of the Council of District 8.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Khue expressed his pleasure that the Vietnam - France strategic partnership had achieved good results over the past time.

He desired that District 8 and the Ho Chi Minh city's National Assembly delegation would continue to have opportunity to share operational experience in the future.

On the same day, the delegation also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in France. Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Thiep said that Vietnam -France relations have developed well over the past time. The French community in Ho Chi Minh city highly appreciates the dynamic and open business environment of the city.

He highly appreciated the contributions of officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in promoting the Vietnam - France strategic partnership in all fields. Ho Chi Minh city is one of leading localities of Vietnam in tightening and boosting cooperation with France.

The cooperation between Ho Chi Minh city and France’s localities and partners continues to develop with specific contents like: friendly cooperation with Lyon city and Lyon region (including 59 cities) about light work, cooperation about air quality improvement, and French doctors regularly going to Ho Chi Minh city to exchange high-quality healthcare.

The Vietnamese official believed that the officials and staff of the embassy continue to be an active and effective bridge to connect the overseas Vietnamese community to the homeland, as well as calling upon mental and material resources for the cause of building and developing Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh city.

Later in the day, the delegation had a working session with Committee of Parliamentarians responsible for social issues of French Parliament.

France has 250 projects with total capital of about USD261 million, ranking 15th among 106 nations and territories investing in Ho Chi Minh city.

Two-way trade revenue reached over USD855 million last year. 

In 2018, it welcomed 168,000 French visitors./.
