Speaking at the event, the Chairman stressed Ho Chi Minh city is expected to welcome more German investors to invest in and further boost the cooperative relations in various fields where the city has need such as: technology, education, green energy and sustainable development.

He hoped that with the role of a bridge of the German Consulate General, Ms. Josefine Wallat would call upon and guide German companies to invest in the city’s strong sectors while pledging to create good conditions for the companies to operate effectively.

For her part, Ms. Josefine Wallat stressed the two sides share common interests in the fields of technology, sustainable development and energy while believing that this is the foundation for both to find solutions for common issues.

She believed that the significant milestone in the two-side relations would be a driving force to speed up the development of Germany-Vietnam cooperation in the near future.

In 2020, the two countries will celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties with many coordinated activities.

Currently, Germany ranks 13th among 106 countries and territories pouring capital into the southern hub with 151 projects, valued at USD286 million. In 2018, bilateral trade turnover reached USD2 billion and the figure was estimated at USD450 million in the first 7 months of 2019./.
