HCM city strengthens urban architectural preservation

The city People’s Committee also asked the city Department of Culture and Sports to assess the implementation of Decision 30/2011/QD-UBND on May 19th, 2011 of the City People's Committee on policy on supporting activities in relics and providing regular allowances for museum workers and librarians over the past time.

In January 2020, the city Department of Culture and Sports will submit the city People’s Committee a regulation on protection and promotion of historical and cultural relics in the city as well as a list of historical and cultural relics in the city in the 2021-2025 period.

This agency was also assigned to strengthen inspection, management, protection and promotion of historical and cultural relics, promptly prevent and strictly handle all acts of infringing upon relics; promote the training of human resources for preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values; and manage the preservation and restoration of relics.

In addition, HCM city Department of Planning and Architecture will review of the implementation of Decision 2751/QD-UBND on May 29th, 2013 of the city People's Committee on the action program in the conservation of urban architectural landscape in the locality late 2019.
